THE SPRING OPENER Saturday, May 2 | 9:00 am (Devlin SG)| Lunch Included The MGA season kicks off on May 2 with the Opening Day Tournament, featuring a fun and strategic 3-Man Elimination (Step-Aside) Scramble played over 18 holes of net stroke play. This continuous rotation format begins with all three players teeing off on the first hole. From that point forward, the player whose shot is selected steps aside for the next stroke, and the player who holes out the putt will step aside on the next tee shot. This creates a constant rotation that requires contributions from every team member and emphasizes teamwork and strategy throughout the round. Teams must have a combined handicap index of at least 18.0. Players may compete from the Position 2/3 tees (Age + Handicap Index = 65) or the Position 3 tees (Age + Handicap Index = 80). TWO LADY MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP Begins Tuesday, May 12|Players Schedule Tee Times| Cost: $25 pp Register as a team or as an individual and we will attempt to pair you up. This event is a single elimination two-woman match play using 90% of handicap off the low player. There is only one flight in this tournament and seeding will be done by team handicap. Matches will be 18 holes and each round will be played in a four-week interval. You may play your match during Tuesday league play but will not be eligible for the weekly prize. Opponents are responsible for setting their own tee times for each round and each match must be played by the designated deadline. If two opponents cannot agree on a time and date for their match, the Committee assigned tee time will be at 4:00 PM on Tuesday of the deadline date during league play. If one team does not show, an automatic forfeit of that team will occur. POY points will be awarded! Last day to register is Tuesday, May 5. TWO MAN MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP Saturday, May 16 | 8:30 am Shotgun | Weiskopf | Lunch Included Register as a two-person team for this season-long match play championship. All teams must compete in the Two-Man Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, May 16. The qualifier will be a 2-Man Net Best Ball Stroke Play event, and the top 32 teams will advance to the Championship Match Play Bracket. Seeding will be based on finishing position in the qualifying round. Once the 32-team field is set, teams will schedule their own matches within the required deadlines for each round. Teams are responsible for coordinating match dates and must adhere to all posted deadlines. Please obtain an official scorecard from the Golf Shop prior to play and return the completed, signed scorecard immediately following the match. All matches will be 18-hole net best ball, using 90% of each player’s handicap, with strokes allocated off the low handicap in the foursome. A maximum handicap difference of 10 strokes is allowed between partners, and the most current Handicap Index at the time of the match will be used. Ties after 18 holes will be decided by sudden death, beginning on Hole #1. If a match is not completed by the deadline, a coin flip will determine which team advances—no exceptions. LGA INDIVIDUAL MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP Play begins Tuesday, May 26 | 32 player max Matches will be played as single elimination until the semifinals. Players who lose in the semifinals will compete in a consolation match to determine 3rd and 4th place. All players will compete in one unified bracket. Matches will be played using 100% of each player’s course handicap. In the event of a tie after 18 holes, the match will be decided by sudden death beginning on Hole #1. All matches must be scheduled through the Golf Shop, and players must use an official scorecard provided by the professional staff. The sign-up deadline is May 19. Match deadlines are strictly enforced—any match not completed by the posted deadline will be decided by a coin flip, with no exceptions.
